Audubon Florida's Coastal Island Sanctuaries

Audubon Florida’s Coastal Islands Sanctuaries (FCIS), established in 1934, is a leader in conservation, monitoring, and management of colonial waterbirds and their nesting islands in the Tampa Bay region. The mission of the FCIS is the protection of the great colonial waterbird populations of the Florida coast, and the natural systems that support them.
FCIS’s work directly benefits thousands of nesting birds from over 25 species of wadingbirds, shorebirds, and seabirds. Eight of these species are listed as state or federally threatened, including Roseate Spoonbills, Reddish Egrets, Wood Storks, and American Oystercatchers.
Donations will support their continued work conserving populations of these iconic birds in Tampa Bay for years to come.
